Change-Deal with it!

Change – Deal with it! The official name of the Women’s President’s Organization’s (WPO) 2012 annual conference, and I can’t wait to get there! As I’m flying 36,000 feet in the air on my flight from San Francisco to Atlanta (my hometown, and where my family lives), I ask myself the question…”what am I looking forward to the most and what are my expectations?”  The list of speakers and sessions is inspiring.

Creative Thinking: Box & Instructions Not Included.

Creativity and Innovation are hot topics in business and human resources this year. I recently read an interesting article that talked about the company 3M. Here is what they do to foster creativity: “At 3M, every engineer has an hour a day to do whatever they want: whether that’s work on a side project or simply tinker with a hobby. “It doesn’t have to be directly relevant, they don’t have to justify it to their boss — all they have to do is promise to share it with their colleagues,” says Lehrer. “This sends an important message early on: we’ve hired you, we think you’re smart, we trust you, we trust you to find solutions, you manage your time in your own way.” (NPR)

Technology. We love it, we hate it, we can’t live without it. We now use technology more than ever to recruit, retain, and measure how we are doing as companies and employees.
